Power of collaboration (my experience)

Very recently, a senior friend called to fix a business meeting with me, so I confirmed my availability and as we met, she informed me that she wants us to work together on a particular project.

After all said and done, I was an associate consultant on the project and a part of the team that delivered a high level teamwork and communication training for one of the foremost multinational oil companies in Nigeria.

Collaboration made it possible!

Every great feat is achievable through collaboration, because one is too small a number to achieve greatness.

We must always realize that two or more good heads are better than one and on our journey to greatness; we must be relevant and valuable and seek relevant and valuable collaborations that significantly repositions us for greatness.

Who do you flock with?

A young man, born cripple had certain friends who carried him daily to a gate that had a large influx of people going in and coming out so he could beg for alms and this routine of theirs for a long time changed nothing.

We must be intentional about our relationships and be careful of friends that are committed to seeing us remain the same, friends that make us to fail, to fall and to flutter, friends that add no value to our lives and never think of how we can get better.

We all need true friends like those who helped their paralyzed friend get to Jesus through the roof top, to receive his healing- they were committed to seeing their friend get healed and better.

True friends are rare, they are deeply committed to adding value, they speak the truth at all times, they sharpen each other and refresh each other.

So take an inventory of your relationships and ask your self, who do you flock with?

Feel free to share…

More than diamonds

Women are special and unique creations of God and they truly deserve to be celebrated for all that they are and all that they do.

Every woman is created with the capacity to incubate and bring forth greatness.

I dare to say that the world will be incomplete without them.

So today, I want to celebrate every woman who in one way or the other is doing something to touch lives and change the world for better.

You are indeed worth more than diamonds.

Thank you for being strong, courageous, loving, patient and understanding.

Thank you also for taking giant steps to transform the world.

And for those who are or have been victims of any form of oppression, may you find your help.

For those who are weak, may you find your strength.

For those who are perplexed, may you find your way.

For those who are down, may you rise and soar.

For those who are sad and hurting, may you find love, peace and joy.

And may every woman emerge to become all they were created to be!

This piece is dedicated to my dearest mother, my sisters, my daughters, to my one and only GA and to all the women of value around me. I love and honour you all.

Just before you shoot!

The last 63 days of this year must have without doubt come with various experiences for various people, but regardless of what experiences you’ve had so far, you must never lose your heart of focus, determination, diligence and gratitude.

As we step into the next 302 days of 2018, I’ll share with you 7 must haves you need before you shoot:

  1. Gather momentum– You must be prepared for the game ahead of you. You need a vision that sets your heart ready for achievement and you must also be physically fit because your body is the vehicle of your purpose.
  2. Master your tools– Every successful hunter requires certain tools and they take their time to study and master their tools. You must also know the tools you need to hit the game before you and you must master these tools before use.
  3. Have a target– You must have clarity of what you want and what you don’t need in order to succeed in the remaining days of this year. Even the hunter in the jungle doesn’t shoot until there’s a target.
  4. Monitor and evaluate– The issue of planning for success can never be underestimated. Even when there is a target, you sometimes see the hunter taking his time to monitor and evaluate the target, maneuvering plans in order to take action and hit the game. You must plan purposefully.
  5. Aim properly– Whether you’re shooting a machine gun or an arrow or a catapult, you certainly need FOCUS! Focus has been and will always be a necessary ingredient for success and therefore you must ensure you aim properly at your target before you shoot.
  6. Timing is everything– One of the reasons for planning is to know the right time for execution. The hunter in the jungle goes through all the aforementioned processes and waits for the right time to shoot. Shooting at the wrong time may cause a narrow miss and as you know, “nearly cannot kill a bird”.
  7. Shoot– As short and simple as it sounds, the hunter doesn’t go into the jungle to play, but to shoot and hit the game. Now when all is said and done, you must come to the time when you must execute and apply yourself diligently in order to hit the game of the next 302 days and achieve good success!

Are you ready to shoot?
