One thing that has constantly stunned the world is how that greatness emerges out of nothingness!

Out of some of the most impossible backgrounds and situations of life, many of which perfectly fits the “can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” question, phenomenal men and women have risen out of obscurity to fame. They have stunned the world with amazing and excellent results of their gifts, strengths and talents.

Here are some examples:

Jack Ma — from the slums of Asia to one of the world’s reputable billionaires

Queen Hadassah — from a poor Hebrew orphan to Queen of the great Persian empire

Steve Harris — from being a 2-time college dropout to Nigeria’s leading life and business strategist

Two underlining factors of these people are: The God-factor and their diligence.

So, don’t be discouraged, don’t be distracted, keep working, keep learning, keep grinding, keep cultivating diligently, keep growing and don’t stop trusting in God until you begin to reap your harvest of excellent results that will stun your world.

Don’t stop!

Grow, Lead, Succeed

One of life’s greatest discoveries is that man was designed and created to grow, lead, and succeed.

However, the limit to which you grow, lead and succeed is largely dependent on how much responsibility you are willing to take for your life and for all you do.

Wherever you are in life today is as a result of leadership: someone led you there: either you or someone responsible for you.

The core essence of leadership is to birth transformation. So, every facet of our society (schools, families, religious centers, marketplaces, and so on) is in dire need of good leadership.

You were born with the capacity to lead and to influence the world with your gifts, talents and strength.

The world is waiting for you!

Take responsibility today.

Grow, lead, and succeed.

Profound lessons from the vacuum mattress

Very recently, I was in Lagos where I was quartered by my host at the beautiful Elegba Festival Estate, Oniru, Victoria Island.

The next day, a few other friends joined us in our apartment and needed some extra sleeping space. So, I volunteered to inflate the vacuum mattress that was available.

Having used a manual pumping machine to inflate the mattress, I gleaned great lessons from the process.
1. Diligence: Diligence is a virtue for greatness. It is not just about what you do but how you love to do whatever you do. I knew a task was before me, so I had to be diligent with my work in order to inflate the mattress and birth my desired goal.

2. Perseverance: When I started pumping, I didn’t see much results but I knew that I had to persevere and not give up if I would ever see the vacuum mattress get inflated.

3. Consistency: I observed that each pump brought air into the mattress, so I consistently pumped in order to get the mattress sufficiently inflated. Consistency breeds mastery!

4. Time: Everything valuable requires time to build and grow. Using a manual pumping machine, it took some time to get the mattress inflated. Just like everything else, success requires time.

5. Patience: As I kept pumping, I had to be patient with the process of birthing the results I desired and eventually, after a while, the mattress was fully inflated.

6. Focus: I knew that I had a task before me, so I had to focus my time, energy and concentration on pumping because I understood that focus is a necessary ingredient for success in life.

As simple as it seems, we can learn profound lessons from almost everything and every event. Importantly also, we must apply ourselves to the lessons learnt because the essence of knowledge is application.

Cheers to your success.

Blunt edges

Abraham Lincoln once said that if he had six hours to cut down a tree, he would spend the first four hours sharpening his axe. This mean that engaging in an activity is not as important as preparing for that activity.

It is amazing how people begin activities and projects unprepared, but still expect to succeed.

One reason why many people are far from greatness is because they are trying to chop down the tree before them with blunt axes. They, therefore, end up exerting so much energy only to achieve little or no results.

What activities, events, and projects have you scheduled for this week?

Have you sharpened your axe well enough for efficiency, effectiveness, and positive results?

Are you prepared for the success you desire?

THINK!

Think differently

Many years ago, people journeyed from one place to another on horses, camels, and donkeys, but the advent of automobiles revolutionized the world of transportation.

Many years ago, people used the abacus system for calculations and learning, but the invention of computers revolutionized the world of learning.

All these were possible because individuals decided to think differently; hence, they found new ways of doing old things and a vast spectrum of discoveries and possibilities.

If you will choose to think differently and find new ways of doing old things, you too can birth innovations without limits.

Will you think differently?

RELENTLESS PURSUIT

Screenshot_2018-09-09-22-04-52

Very recently, I read a news from one of my favorite news websites about a man who has achieved a great feat and it’s worth sharing.

Mohammed Abubakar joined the aviation industry in Nigeria some 24 years ago as an aircraft cleaner but that wasn’t his final destination because he had a dream…

He obviously couldn’t afford his luxurious dream at the time, but he chose to be relentless in his pursuit towards his dream.

He obviously would have had the roughest of times working as a cleaner but he chose not to throw away his tomorrow over the frustrations of yesterday.

He kept his dream alive

He kept his passion burning

He kept his hands diligent and kept taking those little steps of faith towards his greatness.

And after 24 years, he rose from obscurity to significance as he watched his dream come true, from an aircraft cleaner to a qualified pilot!

Today he is wears a captain’s badge and carries out flight operations for one of the famous airlines in Nigeria.

As you read his story and admire his accomplishments, you must realize that “pursuit is the proof of desire”, so never let the pains of the past or present stifle the hope of the future.

Dreams come true!

You must be and remain R E L E N T L E S S in your pursuit until you watch your dream become reality.

Prolific life and Leadership lessons from the train.

Screenshot_2018-08-19-15-04-38

A few days ago, I had to travel from Abuja to Kaduna to do a training for one of my clients and my preferred means of transport was by rail.

So I arrived the train station early that morning to catch my train to Kaduna, I got my ticket, boarded the train and at 7am we took of from Idu train station, headed for Rigasa station in Kaduna.

As I sat back and enjoyed the 2hours 15mins ride, I began to glean prolific life and Leadership lessons from the train and I’ll share with you:

1. The train is a vehicle with capacity to carry both people and luggage- As a leader, you need to build capacity in order to achieve and sustain your success.

2. The train has an engine positioned in front which gives vision and direction to the train- Vision and direction are great leadership qualities and are necessary ingredients for success in life.

3. The train operates by time and is time bound- As a leader, You must value time and maximize time to reach your Greatness.

4. The train rides along it’s assigned track or lane- In life, you must learn to focus on your assigned track and mind your lane. As a leader, focus is critical to hitting your goals and targets.

5. The train has many stop overs and halts but one destination- on the journey of life, there are many stop overs, but you must know your destination and remain tenacious till you get there.

6. As the train gets to each halt and stop over, passengers board and un-board- On your journey to success, people come in and go out of your life at various times, you must know the right time to let them come and go.

7. The engineer who pilots the train must be trained- In life you must have adequate and appreciable level of knowledge to achieve success and reach your greatness. Read, learn, grow.

8. The engine carries the fire power that propels the entire train towards it’s destination- Success doesn’t just happen by chance, you must have enough dexterity and fire power that can propel you towards your dreams.

9. I observed there was a sense of orderliness with the seating arrangements in the train- Every leader needs character. Order is the major difference between a bush and a garden. Order breeds increase and a life void of order will seldom succeed.

10. The train applies series of caution to ensure a safe ride- life’s journey may seem rough, rugged and unending but in all, you must learn to wisely apply caution to ensure you safely reach your greatness.

11. The train blares it’s horn periodically to signal it’s advancement to it’s surrounding- As we journey through life, you must be critical about the kind of signal you send out to your surrounding.

12. The train has an entire crew that makes each journey possible- In life, teamwork makes the dream work. One is too small a number to achieve greatness. You must get the right team in order to win life’s game.

These are the few lessons I gleaned from my train ride. Learn, unlearn and apply yourself diligently.
