Bounce back like KODAK

Back in the 80’s and 90’s, KODAK grew to become a giant in the photography industry with the manufacturing of photo materials and owning photo labs in many cities across the world.

With the advent of digital cameras and evolution of mobile phones, the potential of analog photography devices and materials began to dwindle and gradually, KODAK films and other materials soon became irrelevant and they disappeared into thin air.

But here’s the good news: KODAK is re-inventing. Yes they are bouncing back!

They are taking advantage of a new U.S government policy to retool, repurpose and maximize technology to play big in the pharmaceutical industry- their new found opportunity.

So what lessons can you learn from KODAK?

What opportunities can you find and maximize?

How best can you retool your products and repurpose your services to be relevant to the market?

Now is the time to re-think, re-strategize and bounce back to your greatness.

Beautiful lessons from the vase

Life is always full of profound lessons that are profitable to those who find them.

And just like the vase, a beautifully crafted container, you were beautifully crafted by your Creator.

The vase is always made for a purpose, you were purposefully made.

The vase doesn’t know why it’s a vase, you too need to discover your purpose of creation from your Creator.

The vase was made to carry beautiful flowers and always project them, there’s so much beauty in the potentials you carry and you must project it.

Every vase has it’s unique design, shape and colour, you also have your uniqueness, live in this consciousness and never despise this!

The vase remains relevant as long as it never loses its uniqueness and ability to showcase beauty and flavour and if you must stay relevant in your world, never lose your unique flavour, never lose your ability to bring solutions.

Your relevance makes the world complete, stay relevant!

Staying relevant

It’s no longer news that the Covid 19 era is changing the face of things all across the globe and when things stabilize, certain aspects of normal life as we know it will never be the same again.

Already, smart folks are beginning  to review and adjust their systems and structures, many non-essentials are giving way, while the core essentials are being positioned and repositioned for relevance in the post covid 19 seasons ahead of us.

So what’s your position in this whole game? Where do you stand? Where’s the place of your brand and business in the industry?

You need to take some time to think, pray, plan and strategize winning ways to retain your relevance for long term.

Learn as much as you need to, check and follow global and local trends, refuse to just sit idle and lockdown your creativity.

If it has to be, then it’s up to you to make it happen.

Be phenomenal or be forgotten!

All across the world, it is not strange to hear of and experience crisis, challenges and turbulent moments, but the good news is that storms don’t last forever!

While it is good to anticipate challenging times and be prepared and positioned for survival, it is more important to prepare and position yourself for the life after the storm.

Storms usually bring about drastic changes, disruption in systems and creates a new normal. This is why you must prepare and be positioned to maneuver and remain relevant after the storm.

So you need to get thinking, you need to brainstorm and look critically into all aspects of your life and craft out timeless strategies that will position you and your business for relevance beyond the now.

A new world is emerging, theories and strategies are changing, economies are shifting but in all, God remains constant.

Time to act is now!

Prepare!!

Be phenomenal or be forgotten!!!

Profitable collaboration

Every great organization and institution all over the world is simply a collaboration of ideas.

It might have started with an idea from one person, but has grown big to have innovative ideas from other people- this goes a long way to show that one is too small a number to achieve anything significant.

There’s always a need for partnerships. It is through partnerships that babies are born, plants are made to germinate and businesses are made to profit.

So as you begin to bring your dreams and ideas to fruition, you would need to collaborate with valuable partners who can make your dream succeed.

And since two can’t work together except they agree, there’s a grave need to consider the PEOPLE in the partnership, the PLACE where the partnership will work, the PRINCIPLES by which the partnership will blossom, the PROGRAM that structures the partnership and most importantly, you must focus on the PURPOSE of the partnership.

These keys will make your collaboration a PROFITABLE one and unlock the doors of success for you.

As it can become…

A man once gave three of his workers talents to trade with. One received 5 talents, the second received 3 talents and the third, 1 talent.

In the process of time, the first two traded with their talents and made profits; but the third guy did nothing with his talent.

The difference between these guys is their perspective. The first two saw beyond the state of their talents. They saw what the talents could become. They eventually got what they envisioned. But the last guy saw nothing.

Whenever we fail to see things and people around us as they can become, we tend to lose the value, potential and profit they carry in them.

There’s a whole lot we have in and around us that we can really profit from when we get a fresh perspective and see things, people, and places not just as they are or used to be, but as they can become.

Think fresh, see fresh and succeed!

Use what you’ve got

In one of my favorite bible stories, Moses received a mandate from God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and off he went.

When he faced strong oppositions from the Egyptian King, he knew he needed something unconventional to make his mandate a success.

God asked Moses, “What’s in your hand?” And Moses answered “a rod” and God said to him, “with this rod in your hands, you’ll do wonders, see the unconventional and achieve success”.

Just like Moses, most times we fail to realize that we’ve got something in our heads, our hearts and hands and we tend to limit our success.

With the rod in Moses’s hand, he made water gush out of a rock, he parted the red Sea and made a high way in the midst of it… Incredible right?

With what you have in your head, heart and hand, you can become insurmountable!

This is what the amazing guys at @gokadang have shown the world, in the face of opposition and the banning of their innovative bike hailing business, they truly have something in their head, heart and hand.

They have further innovated their innovation and with the unveiling of their #GoChop food delivery service.

With this innovation, their bikes are still relevant, their riders still have their jobs and business keeps moving with only a few adjustments.

There is something in your head, your heart and your hand.

Use what you have, it’s enough!

Creativity has evolved

Screenshot_20200209-225913~2

Growing up as a little boy, I saw most people give expression to their creative prowess in several ways.

Most of us had so much fun rolling tyres around, building sandy and muddy houses, among others, just to give expression to our innate creative abilities. Most times, our ‘inventions’ got the attention of the neighborhood.

While it’s okay to reminisce on all that, it’s important to understand that creativity has evolved, as nobody will today applaud anyone for building sandy or muddy houses. Neither will you be famous for making paper boats or rolling tyres around.

The world is waiting to celebrate cutting-edge inventions and disruptive ideas that will transform entire systems, cities and economies.

The same mind that imagined a paper boat years ago and made it, has the ability to conceive the next big and disruptive idea. The only trouble is that most people threw away their creativity and let the pressures of life and career choke their God-given ability to dream, create and succeed.

There’s gold inside of you and you must let it out!

It’s your responsibility to engage your mind deeply to create timeless, disruptive and cutting-edge solutions that will transform our world.

Yes you can!

What works for you

While growing up in southern Nigeria, we were used to eating certain fruits and foods in their seasons, after which they’ll disappear.

Down south, we thought that maize, for example, was a seasonal food until I moved to Abuja, a North Central state where maize is available all year round.

I discovered that the farmers in that region broke the limitations of depending on the rains to water their farmlands. They began to use the irrigation method of watering to grow their farms all year round.

They have discovered what works for them. They are utilizing it, breaking limitations and ensuring their productivity and profitability all year round.

You too can break your limits, be productive and achieve all year round success, if only you find what really works for you and apply it diligently.

Harvest your success

As children, we always looked forward to the last 3-4 months of the year because those were the months during which we celebrated our church’s harvest.

The harvest celebration was very unique, as people came to thank God for a bumper harvest or a successful farming season. They did this by showcasing their various yields.

I’d like to see life as a farm and we as farmers. Our ideas, businesses, and careers are the seeds. In the end, we all look forward to the harvest season. It is important for you to bear the following in mind.

1. Every farmer knows that the harvest season is preceded by the planting season. What have you been planting?

2. Every farmer understands the place of diligence in cultivating his farmland. How have you been cultivating your “farmland”?

3. Every farmer knows that the quality of the harvest is largely determined by the quality of the seed and the cultivation. What is the quality of your work so far?

4. Every farmer understands that after the harvest comes the season to plant again. Have you reserved some seeds to sow again?

These questions should guide you through every season of your life, whether planting or harvesting.
